Verizon provides high-speed fiber-optic internet (Verizon Fios) across the Northeastern United States alongside nationwide 5G Home Internet fixed wireless service. Delivering download speeds ranging from 300 Mbps up to 2,300 Mbps (2.3 Gbps) on fiber, and up to 300–1,000 Mbps on 5G wireless networks, Verizon offers robust broadband for households of all sizes. While Verizon does not maintain a commercial senior discount based solely on age for internet services, eligible low-income seniors can combine standard plans with mobile-and-home bundling discounts or enrollment in the federal Lifeline program and Verizon's Forward Program.

Informational Verification Steps

Service Address Search: Input your residential address on the Official Verizon Internet Portal to verify whether Fios fiber-optic or 5G Home Internet is active at your location.
Household Usage Assessment: Audit daily online requirements (such as 4K video streaming, telehealth appointments, smart home monitoring, and family video calls) to select an appropriate speed tier.
Low-Income Assistance Verification: Check qualification status for federal assistance (such as Supplemental Security Income, Medicaid, SNAP, or Veterans Pension) to enroll in Verizon Forward or Lifeline credits.
Mobile Bundle Eligibility Audit: Determine if holding an active Verizon Wireless postpaid mobile plan qualifies your account for Mobile + Home monthly savings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Verizon offer an age-based senior discount on Fios or 5G Home Internet? No. Verizon does not offer automatic commercial discounts based strictly on reaching age 55, 60, or 65 for internet service. Subsidized pricing requires enrollment in benefit assistance (like SSI or Medicaid) or mobile-and-home service bundling. (Note: Verizon Wireless offers age-restricted 55+ mobile phone plans exclusively to residents registered in Florida).
Are there contract commitments or hidden router rental fees with Verizon Fios? Standard Verizon Fios and 5G Home Internet plans feature no annual contracts and include the router rental cost within the base monthly package price.
Can I keep my landline home phone with Verizon Fios? Yes. Seniors can add traditional Fios Digital Voice home phone service to any internet package during enrollment.
